Myadestes lanaiensis
Critically Endangered, possibly Extinct.
18 cm. Small, drab thrush. Brown above, pale grey below, darkest on throat. Pale buff undertail-coverts. Song a halting, thrush-like melody. Call a cat-like rasp. Endemic to Hawaiian Islands; once common and abundant, its decline is due to land loss, mosquitos (malaria) and introduced animals such as feral pigs and cats. The last reliable sighting was in 1994.
